The women of Marout were delighted to have their own well. They sang songs of thank you in their native Krio.

Even in parts of Freetown there is no fresh water supply. People must walk to a water source and carry their water back home again.
Below is the well from a Freewtown school. They have been unable to afford the necessary equipment to pump the water out of the well and up to the school . The children must walk to the water hole and collect the water for the school. About £1500 is needed to upgrade the arrangements.
